Did you know that maintaining the natural landscape can improve stormwater and wastewater management and help mitigate impacts from natural hazards while providing other ecological and recreational services? This three hour course will introduce green infrastructure concepts and terms; explore the economic, ecological, and societal benefits of green infrastructure; and discuss ways to use green infrastructure concepts and improve coastal resilience. Additional information, resources, and training opportunities will also be presented.

Instructors: Nancy Cofer-Shabica and Lindsay Goodwin from NOAA’s Coastal Services Center

Target Audiences: Local Officials, City, County, and Regional Planners (and planning staff), Natural Resource Managers, Emergency Managers, Public Works Staff, Stormwater Managers, and others with an interest in the subject.
