Just got the official registration packet for the Alabama Association of State Floodplain Managers fall conference. This fall’s event will be on October 18th to 20th, at the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center. From the release:
The conference will provide educational and networking opportunities of interest to floodplain managers, code enforcement officials, emergency management officials, engineers, architects, surveyors and planners.
Technical sessions covering a wide variety of topics of interest to those involved in all levels of floodplain management will be presented by professionals from local, state, regional and national government agencies as well as technical and engineering organizations. Attendees will receive continuing education credits for time spent in these sessions.
In addition to the scheduled events (details in the registration packet), participants will be able to participate in a preparatory/review course for the Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) exam on Tuesday morning, followed by a proctored examination in the afternoon (note: only those who have been members of the Association of State Floodplain Managers for a month prior to the exam can take the test).
